Program Description
Jean's presentations for children and adults are tailored to meet the needs of the specific classroom, library, or institution. However, most presentations begin with a description of the creative process involved in producing her book series in general and the featured book in particular. Because all of Jean's books for children contain a strong historical component, she devotes time to a discussion of that facet as it relates to the series as well as to the featured book. After the presentation, Jean entertains a wide range of questions from the audience.
Jean's adult workshop topics include "Addressing Racial Stereotypes and Negative Peer Pressure through Children's Literature," "Writing a Children's Book Series," and "Beginning a Career as a Professional Writer."
