Mentorship Program
Every year, SCBWI-MI offers a mentorship with an experienced author or illustrator for one of our unpublished members. The 2012 program was for illustration; the 2013 program will be announced next spring.

MI members wishing help with self-promotion:

• Announce your upcoming book signings and appearances or share other good news: 1) Use our newsletter by contacting Jodie Fletcher, co-editor; 2) Tell everybody in our MichKids Cyber Community (you are first required to join; it's free).
• Make sure your author information is up-to-date at our website. If you are not listed, check out the requirements and apply.
• Are you eligible for our "New Books" section? Let webmistress Diane Telgen know (editor AT kidsbooklink DOT org)!
• Read extensively at the SCBWI website, especially the article "10 Ways to Support a First Book" by Aaron Shepard
• Wear a shirt emblazoned with "My book is out! My book is out!" :-) 

Remember, books are sold one by one... and every one counts.
