You have Writing Fantasies. You've been waiting for that moment to bring them to reality. That moment is here.
This Fall, October 8, 9, 10, we have just what you have been waiting
for: A weekend of writing and illustrating children’s books at Yarrow Resort in the beautiful foothills of Midwestern Michigan. We'll
have dream workshops with: - Cinda Chima, NYT fantasy bestseller (The Warrior Heir series) on creating believable fantasy
- Darcy Pattison, acclaimed author and writing instructor extraordinaire, on structuring your novel
- Patrick Collins, Art Director (Henry Holt) a hands-on illustration workshop, with homework beforehand, comments from the AD and a chance to bring revised work to the
conference.
- Susan Chang, Senior Editor with Tor Books (fantasy publisher) on plotting your novel.
These workshops will have limited attendance, so sign up early! We'll also have fabulous breakout sessions with: Those
who were here last fall know the magic of Yarrow’s setting: lush rolling hills & forests as well as fabulous food.
Gnomes have been rumored to scurry about. We encourage everyone
to make and bring their very own Magic Wands for a contest. Saturday night, we will dress up as our favorite fantasy character
from any children’s story…as always, optional. But then you would be missing all the fun. Many more special treats and surprises await you.
Bring your Fantasies, and we will help make them a Reality.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This year, Yarrow will
be handling all room reservations. They have a limited number of on-site rooms available, all on a first-come-first-served
basis, so be sure to register early. The cost ($74 plus tax per person for the weekend, based on double occupancy)
is not included in the conference registration fee. Space is limited; Yarrow is a small facility and the
"overflow" facility from last year is no longer available. Once Yarrow is full, you will need to contact a local
hotel for housing. For a list of area hotels, click here.
