Important reminders
If you are published under a pseudonym, please provide that information to SCBWI when you
join, or update your membership information to include your pseudonym. It makes it much easier for we here in SCBWI-MI to
identify you and link you with your books.
The SCBWI International website: Monthly contests, chat boards, opportunities,
connections.... If you aren't making full use of it, perhaps you should. http://www.scbwi.org/ Our chapter's listserv
(cyber community), "MichKids," is served by Yahoo Groups, so if you are already a subscriber to
other yahoo lists and already have a password, you can quickly access your subscription information for MichKids and select
digest, no mail, change your email address, etc. all online. If you are a subscriber to MichKids but don't yet have a
password, apply for a one today at http://www.yahoogroups.com/. Remember, enrollment
is free! MichKids is a SCBWI-MI members-only 2-way email list; when your membership is confirmed, you will be added.
Has your email,
area or zip code changed? Members, update your information by accessing it online at http://www.scbwi.org/. or notify the membership office at membership@scbwi.org and please send a copy to Regional Advisors Rachel Anderson (writingal
AT michigancis DOT com) or Leslie Helakoski (lelhel AT hotmail DOT com). This will help keep you as up-to-date as possible
on national and regional events. Since our chapter does not offer online updating of vital information, we must receive changes
through the International office and there may be a time lag.
Attention Illustrators, Volunteer Opportunities:
Can you help with our website? Our webmistress can always use volunteers
to check our "Links" section to ensure all links are working and sites remain relevant.
You can also advise us about any non-working links and suggest new ones. No website skills needed. Contact Diane Telgen, diane
AT neglet DOT com.
Can you give us a few hours? Work on a committee
for a future event, serve as a critique group facilitator at an SCBWI-MI function, greet people at an event, enter data into
a spreadsheet, clean up, move chairs, etc etc, please contact our Volunteers Coordinator Rachel Anderson (writingal AT michigancis
DOT com). Let us know you're willing to help, your abilities and/or area of particular interest; that helps us help you—and ensures our
chapter's successful future too. Why not volunteer?
